Jasmine (1989) is a novel written by the Asian-American writer Bharati Mukherjee. Mukherjee is considered as one of the leading writers of the Indian Diaspora. The first-person narrative Jasmine, deals with the story of an Indian young girl who fled to the United States where she has gradually shaped her self-identity by different experiences.
